Short version: your documents are processed and deleted. We store nothing unless you explicitly ask us to.

What happens to your uploads

When you convert a document, the file is sent to our processing API, extracted, and the temporary file is deleted immediately after. We do not keep copies of your receipts, invoices, tax forms, or images.

Corrections & training (opt-in only)

After extraction you can fix misread fields in the review table. If — and only if — you check the "Help improve Maddie's Lab" box before downloading, we store the document image plus your corrected fields as labeled training data. This is how the models get smarter over time. Unchecked means nothing is stored, period.

Tax documents

Social Security numbers and employer EINs are masked automatically during extraction — the lab never shows or stores full values.
